Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to and use of the website. Viewing content or submitting a search means that you accept them. If you disagree, stop using the service.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no government affiliation. It and its advertising partners do not provide services for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Its purpose is to help visitors locate Wyoming County and New York record sources. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference site operates independently of government. It does not store official records, retrieve them, perform official checks, or submit documents for visitors.

Its content routes readers to Wyoming County courts and the sheriff, the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, the New York State Sex Offender Registry, and optional third-party research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use is conditioned on an agreement not to:

  • Violate federal, New York, or local law
  • Harass, threaten, or stalk a person with information found here
  • Use content for employment, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
  • Seek unauthorized access to any system or account
  • Deploy bots, scrapers, or other automated access tools
  • Disrupt the website or interfere with another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information obtained here or through a linked tool must not be used to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate. New York law limits use of New York State Sex Offender Registry data, and misuse may be criminal. Registry information supports lawful community awareness, not vigilantism or discriminatory action.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create credit reports, consumer reports, or regulated screening products. Data from the website or a linked tool may not be used to:

  • Make an employment decision
  • Evaluate a housing applicant
  • Set credit or insurance terms
  • Determine eligibility for a license, permit, or public program
  • Serve any other FCRA-regulated purpose

A lawful regulated check must come from an authorized official channel or an FCRA-compliant consumer reporting agency.

5. No Legal Advice

Content is informational, not legal advice. A licensed New York attorney should address how a Wyoming County charge, warrant, conviction, or sealing rule applies to an individual matter.

6. No Warranties

All content and services are provided "as is," without a guarantee that:

  • Information is always complete, accurate, or current
  • Access will be uninterrupted
  • Pages will be free from errors or security flaws
  • A partner's search results will be correct or comprehensive

Charges, outcomes, and sealing status can change, so gaps and delays are possible. Website content is not an official statement by a court, sheriff, or government agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to government offices, courts, legal resources, and outside search services. We do not control those destinations or accept responsibility for their availability, content, data practices, or fees. Their terms apply after a visitor follows a link.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Wyoming County Criminal History or its content partners. Written permission is required to copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative material.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim liability for damages arising from use of the website or reliance on its content or linked services.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims or demands caused by your use of the website or violation of these terms, including related legal costs.

11. Governing Law

New York law governs these terms. Any dispute tied to website use must be brought in a court located in New York.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised, and a revision becomes effective when posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or terminated at any time, with or without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected term will be adjusted only as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be directed through the Contact page.
